Volunteer

Since our inception, Jewish Family Service has been fueled by the incredible passion and dedication of our volunteers. We are always looking for more volunteers to help us to continue our services and programs in the community. Volunteers tell us that they often find that the experience is often just as meaningful and rewarding for them personally as it is for the individuals receiving services, if not more. By donating your time and becoming a volunteer, you are able to give the unique gift of connecting with your own community members and making a difference. We are so grateful to our 275 active volunteers that help make our programs possible. Volunteers receive training and support from our agency. We are always looking for more volunteers to:

• Provide a ride for a neighbor no longer able to drive to their medical appointments or to other destinations in the community
• Go grocery shopping for neighbors for who are homebound
• Offer a friendly visit to a neighbor in need
• Provide reassuring telephone calls
• Help prepare and serve lunch to adults with developmental disabilities through our Lunch Program or Roots program
• Help us out in the office in a variety of ways
• Assist in any one of our youth programs
• Serve on the agency’s advisory board
• Offer time on one of the committees of the Board of Directors
