Ways of Giving

Financial donations are always welcome. Giving in memory of a loved one who has passed is a beautiful way to honor and celebrate their legacy. Additionally, if you’d like to wish someone a happy birthday or anniversary, congratulate them on an achievement, a new home or a new baby, why not send a donation to JFS in their name and let us send a touching note with your personal message and our best wishes as well?

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a method of making a charitable donation that is arranged in advance and takes effect either during the donor’s lifetime or after their passing. Unlike immediate gifts, planned gifts are typically structured to provide long-term benefits for the organization and may offer financial advantages to the donor, such as tax savings or income benefits.

Common forms of planned giving include:

• Bequests: A donation specified in a will or estate plan.

• Charitable Remainder Trusts: Trusts that provide income to the donor or other beneficiaries for a period, with the remainder going to charity.

• Charitable Lead Trusts: Trusts that provide income to charity for a period, with the remainder going to the donor’s heirs.

• Gift Annuities: Contributions that provide fixed payments to the donor or other beneficiaries for life, with the remainder going to the charity.

• Beneficiary Designations: Naming a charity as a beneficiary of retirement accounts, life insurance, or other financial assets.

Beyond financial benefits, planned giving allows donors to make a meaningful, lasting impact on a cause they care about in their community, creating a legacy that supports Jewish Family Service’s mission long after they are gone.
